Connecting dropdown with data and graphics

Hello everybody, I am new to the forum and want to quickly introduce myself. I am from Vienna and am working as a graphic artist for a big media company. Normally my Excel-tasks are limited to simple calculations. This time however I urgently need a bit more.

The goal/task is the following:

I need a dropdown with three different items. Each of them should be connected to a set of data consisting of multiple rows. From the data within those rows I will create a graph. When I chose another dropdown-item I need to have the graph automatically updated due to the new set of data chosen. As if this was not already difficult enough the graph needs to be embedded into a PowerPoint presentation which of course also has to be updated when switching dropdown-items or changing data.

I tried to use the search but I could not find anything which describes the problem above. I have two questions:

1) Is it even possible to generate the above mentioned situation with Excel and PowerPoint?

2) If 1) can be answered with yes, does anybody have an idea how to realize it? (This would be of course perfect!)

Best regards and thanks in advance!

Ralph
