Cannot read 1004 error

I have created an Excel file (for distribution) but for some reason when I send to another PC this message appears.

Microsoft Visual Basic
Run-time error '1004':
Cannot access read-only document 'smnsystem.xls'

I do not know why this is appearing.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
